Rape In Marriage

This is one of the least reported forms of sexual abuse and yet it is by no means a rare occurrence. It is a depressing fact that until fairly recent times, a woman raped by her husband came under his 'claiming his conjugal rights' and the only thing that would have been considered illegal was if the rape was anal (buggery).

Although women do have more rights within marriage now there are still some of these incidents of sexual violence going on without being reported, due to the embarrassment/shame factor or more commonly due to cultural or religious beliefs.

No female of any age should be subjected to any form of sexual abuse regardless of culture, race, or religion. Everyone is entitled to be respected as an individual and be allowed to make decisions for themselves.

Incest

Incest is the sexual abuse by a blood relative. Father, mother, son, daughter, uncles, aunts, grandparents.

Due to the close family ties in these cases the emotional fall out is incredibly complex. There may be conflicting emotions of love/hate, attraction/repulsion, happiness/depression, like/dislike, pride/shame, guilt/responsibility to name but a few. For this reason expert help is necessary to support the abused person through the minefield of the healing process.
